We are currently preparing for our third meet, which is on January 5th, at Illinois Valley Community College. We made several changes to our robot after the second meet. First of all, we made the intake wider and used servos to flip it. This allowed us to use a DC motor to power a linear slide that we attached a new bucket to for scoring minerals in the lander. We also improved our autonomous to use our phone camera to sample the gold mineral.
Popping in to check on you guys! :D
We are currently getting ready for our first (and casual) tournament of the season! We will be going two weeks from now, so we're tightening up our schedule and focusing on finishing up the robot. We have also decided to use Blockly as our programming language rather than Java.
Thanks for sticking around! Stay tuned for more updates and posts!
We are a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team in Dunlap, IL. Comprised of kids from 7-12 grade; we strive to learn about STEM, time management, teamwork, and other necessary skills. Building and programming our robots are achieved by our funds and our skills. We feel the necessity to draw in students who have not been involved in the STEM fields because of the benefits from participating in real life STEM situations, and through FIRST Tech Challenge, this is possible. We split up into programming, building, and outreach groups and complete necessary goals to ensure a successful season. We are T.E.S.L.A.S.!
